King Messenger

Privacy Policy

Last updated October 13, 2026

King Messenger is a messaging app made by Code's Cafe ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the app collects, why, who it is shared with, how long it is kept, and the choices you have. By using King Messenger you agree to this policy.

Information you give us

  • Account details: your name, username and mobile number, which we verify with a one-time code sent by SMS. An email address is optional.
  • Password: if you set one, we store only a secure hash of it, never the password itself.
  • Google sign-in: if you continue with Google, we receive your Google account's name, email address and account ID. We do not receive your Google password.
  • Profile: a profile photo and a short bio, if you add them.
  • Messages and media: the messages, photos, videos, voice messages and files you send, and the stories you post. These are stored on our servers so they can be delivered to the people you send them to and synced to your devices.
  • Reports: if you report a person, message or story, we keep the report, its reason and any note you add.

Your contacts

If you allow access to your phone's contacts, the app sends the phone numbers in your address book to our server only to find which of your contacts use King Messenger. Numbers that don't belong to a King Messenger user are not stored. People who do use King Messenger are saved to your contact list in the app, and you can remove them at any time. Names from your address book are not uploaded. You can use the app without allowing contact access.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and sign-in: your device's name and platform, IP address and app version, used to keep you signed in, let you see and sign out of your devices, and protect your account.
  • Notifications: a push notification token from Firebase Cloud Messaging, so we can tell you about new messages.
  • Activity status: whether you are online and when you were last seen. Your privacy settings control who can see this.
  • Delivery information: when messages are delivered and read, so ticks can be shown to the sender.

King Messenger does not use advertising, ad tracking or third-party analytics, and we do not sell your information.

App permissions

The app only asks for these permissions when you use the feature that needs them, and you can turn them off in your phone's settings:

  • Contacts — to find friends who use King Messenger.
  • Camera — to take photos and videos to send or post.
  • Microphone — to record voice messages.
  • Photos and videos — to choose media to send, and to save media you receive if you choose to.
  • Notifications — to alert you to new messages.
  • Fingerprint or face unlock — for the optional app lock. This is checked by your phone; we never receive your fingerprint or face data.

How we use information

  • To create and secure your account and verify your mobile number.
  • To deliver your messages, media and stories, and sync them across your devices.
  • To help people find you by username or number, according to your privacy settings.
  • To send notifications about new messages.
  • To review reports, prevent spam and abuse, and enforce our rules.
  • To keep the service running and fix problems.

Who we share information with

  • The people you talk to: your messages, media and stories go to the people and groups you send them to. Your profile is visible according to your privacy settings.
  • Service providers: our hosting provider, which stores our servers and data; Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, which delivers notifications; Google Sign-In, if you use it; and an SMS provider, which sends verification codes to your number.
  • Legal reasons: when required by law, or to protect the safety of our users or others.

Our team only looks at message content that has been attached to a report you or someone else filed. Messages are protected in transit with encryption (HTTPS); they are not end-to-end encrypted.

How long we keep information

  • Your account information is kept until you delete your account.
  • Stories are removed automatically 24 hours after they are posted.
  • Messages are kept so the people in the chat can still read them. A message you delete for everyone disappears from the chat, but a copy may stay on our servers so reports about it can still be reviewed.
  • Sign-in records are removed 30 days after the session ends, and unused notification tokens after 60 days.
  • Reports may be kept after an account is deleted where needed to prevent abuse.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time in the app:

  1. Open King Messenger and go to Settings.
  2. Tap Security, then Delete account.
  3. Confirm with your password (accounts made with Google don't need one).

Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, username, phone number, email, photo, contacts and sign-ins, and signs you out on every device. Messages you already sent stay with the people you sent them to, shown as from "Deleted account". Your number and username become free for someone else to use.

If you can't use the app, email aoubusinesskaren@gmail.com from the email on your account, or include your mobile number, and we will delete your account within 30 days.

Your choices and rights

  • Edit your name, username, bio and photo at any time in your profile.
  • Choose who sees your last seen, profile photo and stories in privacy settings.
  • Block anyone, and report people or content.
  • Sign out of other devices from your account settings.
  • Ask us for a copy of your information, or to correct or delete it, using the contact below.

Security

We use encrypted connections, store passwords only as secure hashes, and limit who on our team can access user data. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your phone and sign-in details safe.

Children

King Messenger is not meant for children under 13, or under the minimum age required in your country. If you believe a child has made an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
